Swan Hill Studios is delighted to welcome Amelia Robinson as the first resident in our 2026 Summer Residency Programme.

Over the course of the week, Amelia will transform the gallery into a working studio, inviting visitors to experience her creative process as new work develops alongside an exhibition that reflects on memory, identity and the experience of growing up.

Created shortly after turning eighteen, Was It a Memory? brings together paintings and textiles from different stages of Amelia's life, from childhood artworks to more recent pieces. Looking back through years of making has become a way of reflecting on who she was, who she is today, and the beautifully blurred space in between.

The exhibition explores nostalgia, change and the moments that quietly shape us. Childhood memories begin to soften around the edges, ordinary experiences become treasured fragments, and the past becomes something both…
