Swan Hill Creative Programme

The Swan Hill Creative Workshop Programme is a series of free creative workshops designed for people living with cancer and beyond. Whether you are currently in treatment, in recovery, or adjusting to life after cancer, this programme offers space for creativity, connection, and gentle support.

Developed in partnership with Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, the programme is rooted in the belief that creativity can nurture emotional wellbeing, build confidence, and bring people together through shared experience.

Each workshop offers an opportunity to try something new, connect with others, and reconnect with yourself in a welcoming, supportive, and non-clinical environment. Sessions take place at Swan Hill Studios in Shrewsbury, with selected workshops also delivered across the wider community, including Powys, Telford, and rural Shropshire, helping us reach more people across the region whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Led by experienced artists, makers, writers, and facilitators from our creative community, The Circle, these sessions sit within the growing field of therapeutic arts—offering meaningful opportunities for expression, connection, and wellbeing through making.

Workshops include pottery, painting, calligraphy, jewellery making, writing for wellbeing, and more. No previous experience is needed—everyone is welcome. The only requirement is that you are currently living with, or have previously experienced, cancer. This programme is made possible through the generous support of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, helping us offer enriching, restorative, and accessible creative experiences to those whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
