Swan Hill Creative Programme

We are proud to launch the Swan Hill Creative Workshop Programme, a new initiative of 12 workshops delivered over the next 12 months. Designed to support the emotional wellbeing of individuals affected by cancer, these workshops offer space for creativity, connection, and community.

While the majority of sessions will be hosted at Swan Hill Studios in Shrewsbury, four workshops will take place in the wider community, including Powys, Telford, and rural Shropshire, to help reach more people across the region.

Rooted in the belief that creativity has the power to heal and unite, the programme offers a series of artist-led workshops that provide a safe, welcoming space to explore self-expression, learn new skills, and foster meaningful connections. While these sessions are not clinical art therapy, they sit within the growing field of therapeutic arts, encouraging emotional expression, reducing isolation, and promoting mental wellbeing in a non-medical setting.

Led by experienced artists, makers, and facilitators from our thriving creative community, The Circle, participants can take part in a variety of sessions ranging from pottery and painting to calligraphy, jewellery making, and writing for wellbeing. Every workshop is carefully designed to be inclusive, accessible, and empowering, no prior experience is needed.

This programme is made possible through the generous support of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Together, we aim to offer enriching, positive experiences that help individuals navigate life during or after cancer with creativity, connection, and care.
