Swan Hill Creative Programme

We are proud to launch the Swan Hill Creative Workshop Programme – a new series of creative workshops designed specifically for people living with cancer and beyond.

Whether you're currently in treatment, in recovery, or adjusting to life after cancer, this FREE programme has been created to support you.

Developed in partnership with Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, this initiative aims to nurture emotional wellbeing through creativity, connection, and community. Each workshop is a chance to take a breath, try something new, and meet others with shared lived experience.

While most sessions will take place at Swan Hill Studios in Shrewsbury, four workshops will be hosted in the wider community – including Powys, Telford, and rural Shropshire – to ensure we can reach more people affected by cancer across the region.

Rooted in the belief that creativity can heal, every session is led by experienced artists, makers, and facilitators from our creative network, The Circle. These are not clinical art therapy sessions, but sit within the growing field of therapeutic arts, providing a supportive, non-medical space to reduce isolation, express emotions, and boost mental wellbeing.

Workshops range from pottery and painting to calligraphy, jewellery making, and writing for wellbeing. No prior experience is needed – all are welcome. The only requirement is that you are currently living with, or have previously experienced, cancer.

This programme has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Together, we’re committed to offering enriching and restorative creative opportunities for those whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

If you’d like to hear about upcoming workshops before they’re publicly announced, sign up to our dedicated newsletter.
