About the event
Join artist Sam Pooley-Stride for a relaxed watercolour workshop inspired by botanical forms. This session will introduce you to a range of simple watercolour techniques before putting them into practice by creating your own set of painted postcards.
Sam will guide you through useful tips such as controlling water and pigment, layering colour and building delicate botanical shapes. You will have the chance to experiment with brushes, colour mixing and mark making before developing your own small collection of illustrated postcards.
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as anyone who would like to spend a couple of hours exploring watercolour in a friendly studio environment.
By the end of the session you will have a set of hand painted botanical postcards to take home or send to friends and family.
All materials are provided.
