About the event
Join artist Meg Ward for a relaxed and welcoming workshop exploring the art of still life. This session will guide you through the process of observing, sketching and painting from a carefully arranged still life setup.
You will begin by making a series of observational sketches, helping you look closely at shape, form and composition. Meg will share tips on how to simplify what you see and translate it onto paper, building confidence in your drawing before moving on to paint.
Using your sketches as a starting point, you will then develop your ideas into a finished acrylic painting on board canvas. Meg will demonstrate techniques for mixing colour, layering paint and building depth, while encouraging you to experiment and find your own style.
